Lulu lookin' and listenin'. I think of her as "Monkey Socks..." she has the color of those socks which are made into monkeys, the different gray colors and the flaming red tail. Her eyes are just starting to lighten up, indicating she is maturing. she has been dna tested, so we know for sure she is a female. |
The purple blob in the back is a teddy bear who has been Lulu's constant companion - now ready for a swim in the clothes washer.... |

Here Lulu is snacking on a Cheerio - one of her favorite foods. Her dish also has chopped apples, oranges, sweet potatoes, scrambled egg bits, rice, cilantro, broccoli bits, and more - swimming in a water soup, which she likes to sip. She is still getting little meals of the hand feeding formula - Harrison's Organic formula - but she really enjoys bananas and her dish of parrot food, which has safflower seeds (her favorite seed right now), sunflower seeds, corn, millet, and some of the Harrison's pellets, as well as an occasional peanut, almond, and half walnut. She enjoys working on shelling the nuts, but still not eating much of them. |
Lil' Lulu listens very carefully, and I have heard her whistle, the traditional wolf whistle, and other familiar calls. Soon, I hope to hear some words from her, like "hello" and "I'm a good bird" - always nice to hear. |
