Congo African Grey Babies

Here are picures of the 2 handfed Congo greys from parrotise.org. They have been lovingly handfed since they were 3 weeks old, and are now residing in good homes.

The male African Grey baby is very vocal.  He says "hello" in a very deep voice.  He is also doing the wolf whistle, another whistle that greys do.  He says "wacho wacho woo" and "what ya doing." He loves to be held like a baby in your arms. He is vocalizing more every day.

The female African Grey is very loving.  She also says "hello."  She loves to cuddle and give kisses.  She likes to have her back rubbed.  She is starting to say "what you doing."  She would make a very loving companion.  She is starting to copy the male grey and his vocabulary.

These greys are of the lighter colored Congo variety, more desirable. Greys are the most popular pet parrot, and can mimic just about anything. Thier parents whinny just like horses, and have a long whistle at dusk that sounds like ufos landing. When we leave the aviary after feeding all the birds, the Wus (parents of these two African Grey babies) say "bye bye," only at that time. They love to eat fresh fruits, sprouts and vegetables, and greens especially, peanuts and smaller pieces of other nuts - walnuts, almonds, and pine nuts. They are the go anywhere and have fun with parrots- riding on bikes and going for car rides.
